Fitting it as you describe would mean fitting the dishwasher under the channel which would mean the top of the dishwasher door would be a good 15mm lower than the top of the furniture doors on each side, it would look awful!

It has a thermostat which operates a blower and is supposed to provide a flow of warm air at foot level. A good idea but in practice I have found it pretty ineffective.
