Web21 apr. 2014 · That's practically pulling 17A off of the EPS 12v connector which isn't unreasonable, but it is a lot of power draw. Since it melted on the connector, there was probably a semi-poor connection between both connectors and that bad connection (and resistance added because of it,) caused ohmic heating that made it melt.
